Innovate Colchester 2019, organised by the Colchester Ambassadors, showcased all the new exciting developments under way in Colchester, with Bartech Marine MD Paul Black summarising the millions of pounds worth of investment in the town.
He was joined at the Innovate Colchester event on June 10 at the University’s Essex Business School by guest speakers Alex Golledge, Deputy Agent for the Bank of England South East and East Anglia, and Professor Maria Fasli, who is Director of the ESRC Business and Local Government Data Research Centre and Director of the Institute for Analytics and Data Science, based at the University.
Mr Bleck explained: “This was a great event bringing together many of the town’s business people to hear about exciting changes that are taking place, which will help boost employment opportunities for the growing population.
“As well as investment by businesses, educational establishments and local authorities in our town centre, business parks and wider facilities across the borough, millions are being poured into road and rail infrastructure, supported by superfast broadband.”
Karen Ainley, CEO of Mosaic – The Integrated Marketing Agency, led a panel discussion of guest speakers: Russell Jervis, Managing Director of Spicerhaart, Christopher Gallop, Group Managing Director of Cloudfm, Laura Mansel-Thomas who is a Partner of Ingleton Wood, and Simon Blaxill, Managing Director of Kent Blaxill, who is also Chair of the Colchester Business Improvement District (BID).
Businesses also heard from Colchester Ambassadors Steve Mannix, Executive Director of the Mercury Theatre, and Stephen Clark, Managing Director of Churchmanor Estates, explaining about latest developments.
