Innovate Colchester, an exciting new event being launched by the Colchester Ambassadors, will highlight a ripe climate for business growth in the town, thanks to many millions pounds worth of investment.
The Ambassadors, a group of inspirational business people who run many of the borough’s key organisations, will be sharing their vision and passion for the town, at the Innovate Colchester event on June 10th at the University’s Essex Business School.
Guest speakers include Alex Golledge, Deputy Agent for the Bank of England South East and East Anglia, and Professor Maria Fasli, who is Director of the ESRC Business and Local Government Data Research Centre and Director of the Institute for Analytics and Data Science, based at the University.
They will be followed by a presentation from Colchester Ambassador Paul Bleck, Managing Director of Bartech Marine Engineering, about the projects that have taken place in the past year in the town or are currently under way.
Mr Bleck explained: “This event is a fantastic opportunity to bring together many of the town’s business people to hear about exciting changes that are taking place, which will help boost employment opportunities for the growing population.
“As well as investment by businesses, educational establishments and local authorities in our town centre, business parks and wider facilities across the borough, millions are being poured into road and rail infrastructure, supported by superfast broadband.”
Sara Thakkar, Chief Executive of Colne who is chairing the event, added: “As Colchester Ambassadors, we focus on four key areas – creating the right infrastructure for growth, with business people having an entrepreneurial mindset supported by excellent educational establishments, in a borough which is a lovely place to live and grow for individuals and families.”
Karen Ainley, CEO of Mosaic – The Integrated Marketing Agency, will lead a panel discussion of guest speakers: Russell Jervis, Managing Director of Spicerhaart, Christopher Gallop, Group Managing Director of Cloudfm, Laura Mansel-Thomas who is a Partner of Ingleton Wood, and Simon Blaxill, Managing Director of Kent Blaxill, who is also Chair of the Colchester Business Improvement District (BID).
